A MESSAGE FROM DR. HERZBERG

Hello Leopard Families!

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I hope all of our students and families had a relaxing summer. It was a joy to meet so many new students and parents at our meet the teacher event, and it was great to see our returning students ready for a new school year!

It is my goal to serve the students, staff, parents, and community of Mary Lillard to support a positive school culture, develop positive relationships, and support the highest levels of learning for each individual student. We have an incredible staff of teachers who are ready to help your child excel.

I welcome our entire community of students, parents, and staff to Mary Lillard Intermediate's 2018-2019 school year!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL AUGUST 15, 2018

The first day of school is a little different than the rest of the year.
  • Our doors will open at 8:00am
  • Students will report to their first academic period class. That means that those that have exploratory or PE 1st period, will instead go to their 2nd period class. We will have staff available to help everyone know where to go.
  • All students will receive a fresh copy of their schedule
  • If a student eats breakfast, they can eat in the cafeteria beginning at 8:00
  • Our school day begins at 8:30am
  • You may bring supplies all at once or spread it over a few days. All students will need is a pencil and paper for the 1st day
  • After the school day starts, we will help students who need to deposit lunch money go the cafeteria to deposit their money

If you need to turn in proof of residency, staff will be in the library to collect your current gas, water, or electric bill.

A tip to remember:

Leave early and expect traffic. More parents drop-off and pick-up on the first few days than any other time of the year. Please expect traffic to be busier than usual for the first week.

Pick-up. All students who get picked up will be released to the drive on the north side of the school (closest to Danny Jones). Buses only are allowed to pick up on the east drive (near Day Miar). On the first few days, the lines will be incredibly long. We ask for your patience during this process as we all get used to navigating our campus during the first week.

BUS RIDERS

The link below will take you to the page to find out which bus your child rides:

Please make sure that your student knows which bus they ride so we can get them safely on their bus.

The first few days of school buses are often late as they learn their routes. Thank you for your patience with our transportation department!
