Final Exam Exemption Information

Mansfield Tigers,

The end of the first semester is almost here and that means semester exams are just around the corner.  Final exam exemptions are possible based on the following criteria:

•    Each high school student may earn 2 exam exemptions for the Fall semester

•    Students must maintain an 80 or above semester average in the class for which the student is seeking an exam exemption

•    Students must meet disciplinary expectations to qualify for exam exemptions.  Any of the following will result in loss of semester exemptions

o    Receives a disciplinary assignment to on-campus suspension (AC/ISS)
o    Receives a disciplinary assignment to off-campus suspension (OSS) or alternate education program(s) (BIC and/or JJAEP)

If a student meets the above criteria, then a student can request up to 2 exemptions for the Fall semester by doing the following:

•    Complete the request form using the link. (Student must be signed in to their misdmail.net account)

•    The form will open for submissions on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 7:00 a.m.

•    The form will close for submissions on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

•    Students must select the appropriate block for the class they are requesting the exemption for.  Any Ben Barber course must select the Ben Barber session

•    Please check with the teacher prior to filling out the exemption form to confirm eligibility in that class. No modifications can be made to requests, NO EXCEPTIONS.

•    Once submitted, the student will receive a receipt email to their MISD Google email account. If the student does NOT get an e-mail, try and submit it again.

***Absences are no longer tied to exemptions, but students MUST maintain 90% attendance to earn credit for the course. If a student has more than 4 absences in any class, their assistant principal will reach out to them in January regarding an attendance recovery plan.

Students can reach out to their teachers or assistant principal with any questions they may have.

Thank you,
